Our Story

Welcome to Wildwood Deer.

It is our passion to provide high quality, wild venison that is sourced in a sustainable and ethical manner. By achieving a balance within nature, we support conservation, habitat management and a strong, healthy population of high quality wild deer.

Wildwood Deer is founded by James Woodhouse and Ant Mclearnon. Together they share a relentless passion for the countryside. Both are accomplished and highly regarded in their separate fields but unite with the shared values: sustainability and conservation.

James is an outstanding teacher, maths specialist and outdoor educator who has helped schools shape policy and practice over many years. His love of the outdoors shines through his work.

Ant excels as a highly regarded Head Keeper and Estate Manager. His life’s work has been steadfastly focused on developing the best habitat possible, creating a rich and diverse landscape for all to thrive within.
